What is EVO ICL?
EVO Visian ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) surgery is an advanced LASIK alternative designed to correct vision problems such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. It is an excellent option for individuals who are not candidates for LASIK eye surgery or prefer a refractive surgery that does not involve corneal reshaping.
Unlike LASIK, which removes corneal tissue, the EVO ICL lens is implanted behind the iris (the colored part of the eye) and in front of the natural lens. This additive technology preserves the eye’s natural structure and makes the procedure potentially reversible.
Since its FDA approval in 2005, over a million EVO ICL lenses have been implanted worldwide. The lenses are made from Collamer, a biocompatible material that integrates seamlessly with the eye, reducing the risk of rejection. Patients report high satisfaction, with over 98% stating they would choose the procedure again.

EVO ICL Benefits
Less Invasive Than LASIK:
Unlike LASIK or PRK, EVO ICL does not involve corneal tissue removal. Instead, the phakic intraocular lens (IOL) is implanted within the eye, making the procedure minimally invasive.
Superior Vision Correction:
Most patients achieve 20/20 vision or better, reducing or eliminating the need for glasses and contact lenses.
Built-in UV Protection:
EVO ICL lenses include UV-blocking technology, offering added protection against harmful ultraviolet rays. However, patients should still wear sunglasses for additional defense.
Reversible Vision Correction:
Unlike LASIK, which permanently alters the cornea, EVO ICL is removable. This flexibility allows for adjustments in the future, particularly as age-related vision changes occur.
Ideal for Severe Nearsightedness & Dry Eyes:
EVO ICL corrects up to -23.0 diopters of myopia—twice the correction range of LASIK, which is limited to -11.00 diopters. Additionally, since the corneal surface remains untouched, EVO ICL does not worsen dry eye symptoms, making it a preferred choice for individuals prone to chronic dry eyes.
