Meet Dr. Bovy – In his own words:
Why did I become an optometrist?
My passion for optometry began with a personal experience. As a high school senior, I suffered a traumatic eye injury that resulted in a horseshoe retinal tear. Prompt treatment with laser barricade prevented permanent vision loss and gave me a profound appreciation for the importance of eye health. While studying biology as a pre-med undergraduate, I took a part-time position as an optometric technician. This experience introduced me to the field of optometry and confirmed my desire to pursue a career dedicated to protecting and improving patients’ vision. I was drawn to the combination of science, patient care, and the meaningful impact that healthy vision has on quality of life. Today, I am proud to pursue a career in optometry and help provide patients with the same thoughtful eye care that made such a lasting impact on me.
What do I enjoy most about being an optometrist?
Educating patients about their vision, condition, and why they see the way they do. I also take pride in giving an excellent refraction to hone in the glasses or contact lens prescription.
Why should a patient go to SoCal Eye?
Unlike experiences at many other offices, you won’t be treated like another number. Everyone on the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and wants to provide you with the best care possible.
