Meet Dr. Tse – In her own words:
Why did you become an optometrist?
I come from a family of doctors, so caring for others and pursuing a career in medicine has always been a part of my life. One of the moments that I remember most from my childhood was getting my first pair of glasses. I still remember how amazed I was when I put them on and realized how much clearer and
brighter the world could look. That experience had such a positive impact on me and gave me an appreciation for just how much vision can affect a person’s everyday life. As I grew older, I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I could combine medicine with meaningful connections with my patients. Optometry felt like the perfect fit. I love that I can help someone experience that same feeling I had when I first put on my glasses—while also having the opportunity to protect their vision for years to come.
What do you enjoy most about being an optometrist?
What I enjoy most is being able to care for the whole patient and make a meaningful difference in their everyday life. Sometimes that means helping someone see clearly with the perfect pair of glasses or contact lenses, and other times it means detecting and managing an eye disease before it begins to
affect their vision.
I especially enjoy getting to know my patients over time and building relationships based on trust. I want my patients to feel comfortable asking questions and confident that they are receiving thoughtful,
personalized care.
